“To be a star, you must shine your own light,

follow your own path, and don’t worry about the darkness,

for that is when the stars shine brightest.”

Elizabeth Dunn is a dance enthusiast and creative choreographer.  Elizabeth began her classical ballet training at Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA and studied tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, acro, hip-hop, and musical theatre under the direction of Joyce Satorelli at Broadway Studio of Performing Arts in Chelsea, MA which blossomed later as formerly known as Dance Company Inc. under the direction of Gina Colombo.  In May 2012 Elizabeth graduated from Salem State University with a degree in Communications and Dance.

At a very small age Elizabeth has had such a passion for dance and expressing herself.  She has competed in many competitions and has performed in various dance productions receiving many principal and company roles at such a young age. At age 16 Elizabeth was invited to be part of Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre’s pre-professional company called “YouthWorks.”  Elizabeth started assisting dance at age 14 and began teaching her own classes at the early age of 17.  She has won many choreography awards and overall awards for her choreography throughout the past 5 years.

Elizabeth is very excited for year 4 of Shine On Performing Arts! She strives to make sure all dancers across the Woburn area share their passion for dance and have the chance to shine on the stage.  Elizabeth also hopes to share with all the dancers that body image, and how you look does not depend on your ability to dance.  Every dancer is beautiful and unique in and out. SOPA’s number one goal is to place your dancer(s) in the correct placement and strive to get the best out of their dance class.
