Meet our SOPA Dance Instructors!
Jessica has been dancing since she was nine years old. Throughout her teenage years, she volunteered at her dance studio as an assistant, and upon entering college became a teacher at the same studio. During the summers, Jessica worked at residential summer camps as a counselor and dance instructor. She attended Salem State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, and a minor in dance. While there, she was a dancer and choreographer in Repertory Dance Theater, and presented many pieces with the Salem State Dance Ensemble. When she’s not dancing, she’s raising her two children, Jonah and Phoebe, with her husband Charlie!
Robyn Frazitta Cotnoir’s dance journey started at the age of three where she joined the Diane Cournoyer Dance Studio in Northborough, MA. She trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, modern, and was given the opportunity to choreographer her senior solo in high school before graduating. After graduation, Robyn attended the University of New Hampshire where she auditioned and was selected to be a member of the UNH Dance Team. The dance team participated in regional and national competitions and performed at the college’s basketball and football games. Post college, she was involved in the work study program at the Jeannette Neil Dance Studio in Boston, MA and took a variety of different classes the studio offered. In addition to Robyn’s dance training, she got her license to be a Zumba instructor, and taught classes for her colleagues for years. Throughout the different stages of her life, she always found a way to stay involved with dancing, and couldn’t be more excited to join the SOPA Team!
Sarah DiTonno is very excited to be joining The Shine on Performing Arts family and hopes to spread her love and creative thinking of dance and theater arts to this wonderful community.
Sarah began her training at the age of three in Wakefield. She continued her training at Dance Inc., which later became known as The Dance Centre of Performing Arts under the direction of Toni Marie Febbi. Her training includes jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. At the age of fourteen, Sarah began assisting classes and found her love of teaching dance to younger students.
After graduating high school, Sarah began training at Keene State College in their theater and dance program. During these four years, Sarah began to flourish as a contemporary dancer and choreographer. She had the pleasure performing in An Evening of Dance under the direction of Marcia Murdock, as well as choreographing her own piece for the Choreographer Showcase. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Dance and Theater with specialization in Dance Education, while also completing a degree in Elementary Education.
Even though dance is Sarah’s first passion, she has always had a love for the theater. She began performing on stage at the age of seven and never looked back. She later began choreographing for Wakefield Repertory Youth Theater and was nominated for Dash Award for her work on Disney’s: My Son Pinocchio. Sarah’s most recent work includes Bishop Fenwick’s production of Footloose and The Pajama Game. Sarah is overjoyed to be back in a studio and to share her knowledge of dance to a new generation of dancers.
